Job Description/Requirements
Real Impact. 40 Days. One Sector Changed.
We don’t need a theorist. We need a builder.
AVE (Foreign Trade Association of German Retailers) is looking for a short-term consultant or consultancy firm to help shape the future of Ghana’s garment industry.
This assignment is not about writing concepts. It’s about building capabilities that last.
Context
The consultancy is part of a strategic partnership between AVE and the Association of Ghana Apparel Manufacturers (AGAM), implemented under the Business Membership Organisation Partnerships (KVP) programme and financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through sequa.
AGAM is a growing industry association representing Ghanaian garment manufacturers—many of them women-led or export-ready—seeking to expand their reach into European markets. To do so, AGAM must be equipped with the tools, knowledge, and internal systems to guide its members through international market requirements, compliance standards, and buyer expectations.
Your Mission
We’re looking for someone who can roll up their sleeves and help AGAM become a stronger, service-oriented association. You’ll:
- Conduct structured readiness assessments for up to 10 member companies (with AGAM involvement)
- Identify key compliance and capacity gaps (especially in relation to the EU Supply Chain Act)
- Develop tailored action plans and checklists for each company
- Design and deliver 6 focused training sessions (approx. 3 hours each) for AGAM and selected members
- Prepare 10 short case studies that document company-level improvements
- Consolidate your insights into a sharp final report that helps AGAM move forward strategically
