Company Driver

Responsibilities:

Driving

• Drive vehicle for official travel and business.
• Maintain a high standard of service to both internal and external guests.
• Ensure punctuality and safe transport
• Observing the road and traffic laws and regulations of the country
• Ensure that safe driving practices are adhered to including local driving codes and internally agreed standards.
• Alcohol must not be consumed or present whilst on duty

Car Security & Maintenance:

• Ensure vehicle is kept clean, tidy and in good working condition at all times
• Ensure vehicle is kept secure at all times
• Ensure the vehicle is given regular/day-to-day maintenance checks: check oil, water, battery, brakes, tyres, etc.
• Prepare and submit vehicle monitoring reports, including records of vehicle operations, maintenance, expenses, mileage, at the end of each month (On timesheets).
• Ensure vehicle insurance and registration is updated according to schedule

Geographic Knowledge:

• Have a good sense of direction
• Research destinations to ensure complete understanding of exactly where the destination is located.
• Maintain awareness of current road systems and conditions by monitoring news and traffic reports, adjusting routes as necessary to avoid delays.
• Be punctual and plan to arrive at a destination at least 5 minutes prior to appointment.

Safety:

• Require a valid Driver’s License
• Always obey current road safety rules and regulations.
• Display good driver behavior and road use etiquette.

Availability and Confidentiality

• Candidate should be attentive and available on a 24 hour call basis even on weekends.
• Maintain strict confidentiality on all conversations and information overheard during transport assignments.

REPORT /Vehicle Control

• Ensure good care of company vehicle
• Drive fuel efficiently. Minimize hard acceleration and braking.
• Do not use the vehicle for personal use.
• Maintain driver log book and complete pre-trip inspections
• Report any problems or accidents with the vehicle to management and undertake necessary solutions

Company Driver Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license.
• Clean driving record.
• Sound knowledge of road safety regulations.
• The ability to utilize maps, GPS systems, and car manuals.
• Effective communication skills.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Must be a resident of Dzorwulu or its environs.
