The Commercial Finance Analyst is a key role and acts as Finance Business Partners to management by performing reporting activities and by providing in-depth financial analysis for the purpose of strategic and tactical decision-making.









The Commercial Finance Analyst demonstrates a sound understanding of business performance drivers and builds analytics to deepen understanding for decision-making processes and steering the business. Hence, the Commercial Finance Analyst participates in commercial strategy & execution meetings providing sound financial & business performance reports.

Vacancy Description

  • Develop the commercial controlling policies and objectives to drive Strategic Net Sales growth and GPC realization in line with the Long Range Plan for ESA and contribute to the development of the commercial finance strategy and plans for the SSA Cluster.
  • Business Partner to the sales team across all countries on all commercial aspects of the business from contract negotiation to innovative pricing strategies. Creating financial models with scenarios suitable for the countries to guide business decisions, monitor progress, and review actions.
  • Support the Country Managers to achieve defined targets by demonstrating a continuous focus on the identification and realization of pricing and profitability improvements.
  • Handle the calculation & payment of incentives based on company policy, investigating and processing claims by key business partners and providing support for commercial decision-making on sales & marketing expenditure.
  • Conduct periodic SKU profitability checks and advise the controller on optimal sales opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities in the short, medium, and long term and ensure any risks are highlighted and its exposure is managed accordingly.
  • Act as the commercial expert within the sales team, assisting in increasing financial awareness and communication
  • Conduct market research and feasibility studies to analyze the viability of alternative business development opportunities.
  • Collect, compile, verify, and analyze financial, competitive, sales, marketing, and other information about potential business partners; new markets, products, and services; or other business opportunities so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making strategic and operational decisions.
  • Translate policies and objectives to annual plans/ Budgets and ensuring execution and control while supporting speedy GTM executions that drive top & bottom line value of revenue generation and EBIT realization as defined in the ESA Long Range Plan as a contribution to the total SSA targets.
  • Lead/drive budgeting and forecasting discussions for respective areas of SG&A
  • Enhancing profitability and pricing consistency within respective areas. Provide input to and challenge the pricing/profitability strategy and manage the operational execution of the strategy in the divisions.
  • Steer and coordinate the profitability margin of the countries & customer portfolio, in compliance with pricing strategy and guidelines
  • Ensure sound promotional pre and post-evaluations identifying areas of improvement .
  • Provide insights at the request or own initiative regarding quantitative and qualitative developments utilizing periodical and ad hoc reports and/or analyses, based on reporting guidelines
  • Build and maintain a network of relevant (external) stakeholders/partners as well as manage the relation with the (direct) environment of the production facility/facilities .
