Job Description/Requirements
The vision:
To become a renowned institution for training world-class and exceptional Science, Mathematics, and Information and Communication Technology teachers who will educate and inspire students in basic schools.
Role
- He/she shall assist the Principal in the administration and Management of the College.
- He/she is the Secretary to the Governing Council as well as other statutory committees of the College.
- It shall be the responsibility of the College Secretary to ensure the functioning of all committees of the College.
- The Office of the College Secretary is in charge of all administrative and personnel matters of the College.
- Establishing and maintaining procedures, policies and systems that work for effective administrative operations.
- The College Secretary shall be the Chief Administrative Officer of the College, and is answerable to the Principal of the College in the discharge of his/her duties.
Required Qualification and Experience:
The applicant must:
- Possess a good first degree and postgraduate degree preferably in Administration and Management related areas or Social Science.
- Have served as Deputy Secretary in a College of Education or Deputy Registrar in a University or comparable grade in a similar institution/organization for at least four (4) years.
- Applicant must possess strong IT skills.
Terms of Appointment
- Applicant must be able to complete at least one term of four (4) years before attaining the compulsory retirement age of sixty (60) years.
- Terms and conditions of appointment shall be determined by the College Governing Council in line with the provisions of the Harmonized Conditions of Service for Colleges of Education.
- The College Secretary shall hold office for a term of four (4) years and may be eligible for re- appointment, subject to satisfactory performance, provided that no part of the second term extends beyond the statutory retirement age of sixty (60) years.
