Job Summary
We are seeking a competent and experienced Cashier Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the operations of both Cash-in-Transit (CIT) and Sitting Cashiers. This role involves managing cash handling processes with a high level of precision and integrity to ensure secure and efficient cash management across the organization. Adequate cash handling expertise, process management, and unblemished supervisory experience are essential to success in this role. Strong leadership, attention to detail, and numerical abilities are also critical. The Cashier Supervisor will report directly to the Head of Accounts.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Supervision of Cashiers:
- Oversee the daily activities of the cashier team, ensuring adherence to strict security protocols and cash handling procedures.
- Assign tasks to cashiers, both CIT and Sitting, monitoring performance to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Train and mentor cashiers on secure procedures for handling cash and valuables, ensuring alignment with company policies and standards.
Cash Handling and Reconciliation:
- Supervise the counting, recording, and reconciliation of cash collected and distributed to clients.
- Ensure detailed documentation and accounting of all cash transactions.
- Reconcile discrepancies, investigate shortages or overages, and implement corrective actions where needed.
- Oversee deposit preparations and ensure the timely transfer of funds to designated locations (e.g., banks or vaults).
Security and Compliance:
- Enforce strict compliance with the company’s security policies, internal controls, and legal requirements for cash handling.
- Maintain a secure cash office environment, protecting both employees and assets.
- Ensure all security protocols are strictly adhered to, including the use of safes, surveillance cameras, and procedures for managing large cash transactions
- Conduct regular audits of cash handling processes to identify risks and maintain internal control standards.
Customer and Client Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding cash-related matters, promptly addressing any issues or discrepancies.
- Deliver cash services in a timely and professional manner to meet client expectations.
- Address client inquiries or concerns about cash transactions with professionalism and efficiency.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cash transaction reports, including income, expenses, and any discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all cash receipts, payments, and reconciliations.
- Report any irregularities or security concerns promptly to management.
Team Coordination and Training:
- Coordinate with the CIT team for the safe and efficient execution of cash deliveries and pickups.
- Organize regular training sessions to keep cashier teams compliant with security protocols and cash handling practices.
- Conduct performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback to team members for growth and recognition.
Auditing and Compliance Monitoring:
- Conduct spot checks and internal audits to verify cash counts and reconciliations.
- Collaborate closely with finance and audit teams to uphold internal controls and reporting standards.
- Ensure compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and company policies on cash transactions.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Diploma or degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of practical experience in cashiering and supervision, with an unblemished record.
- Prior experience in cash-handling roles, preferably within a security or financial services environment.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills for managing both CIT and Sitting Cashiers.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling and reconciliation.
- Solid understanding of cash handling security protocols.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address cash discrepancies and resolve client issues.
- Ability to work well under pressure, especially when managing large cash amounts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interactions with clients and team members.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial management basics.
Additional Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of cash handling security measures and experience in high-risk environments.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling cash transactions.
- Clean criminal record and the ability to pass a thorough background check.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
