Job Summary

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth and fostering strategic partnerships for the hospital. This role requires a deep understanding of the healthcare sector, strong business acumen, and the ability to build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals and maintain an extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

New Business Development

  •  Identify and analyze prospects for potential new clients and turn them into increased short- and long-term business engagements.
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization in order to develop appropriate business strategies to engage them with the view to enhance client base expansion.
  • Continuously undertake business research and utilize the findings to assist in building relationships with potential and new clients.
  • Work with team to develop proposals that speak to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.

Business Development Planning: 

  • Attend sector functions, such as association events and conferences.
  • Provide feedback / information on market and creative trends.
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in financial growth.
  • Use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the Hospital’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

Management and Research: 

  • Analyze competitors, industry regulations, and market dynamics to stay informed on market developments.
  •  Tracks and records activity on accounts and help to close deals.
  • Works with relevant staff to ensure that prerequisites (like prequalification or getting on a vendor list) are fulfilled within a timely manner.
  • Provides business development training and mentoring to internal staff.
  • Performs any other duties assigned from time to time.


Market Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for business expansion within the healthcare industry.



Key Competencies & Requirements:

Qualifications, Skills and working Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration or any related fields.
  • Possession of a minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible working experience, preferably within the healthcare industry.
  • Must be familiar with the concept of Business Development in a resource constrained environment.
