Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management
- Supervise Bartenders and Bar Staff: Assign duties, schedule shifts, and ensure team efficiency.
- Training and Development: Train new bartenders and continuously develop staff skills in mixing drinks, customer service, and product knowledge.
- Conflict Resolution: Handle any staff disputes or issues professionally.
Bar Operations Management
- Stock and Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and ensure there are no shortages.
- Quality Control: Ensure the consistency and quality of beverages served, adhering to the hotel’s standards.
- Maintenance of Equipment: Ensure bar equipment is in working order and arrange repairs as needed.
Customer Service
- Guest Interaction: Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction and resolve complaints promptly.
- Personalized Service: Offer tailored recommendations for drinks and promote signature cocktails or specials.
- Complaint Resolution: Address and resolve guest concerns diplomatically.
Menu Development and Innovation
- Create Beverage Menus: Design and update the bar menu, including cocktails, mocktails, and wine selections.
- Introduce New Offerings: Innovate and experiment with new recipes or drink trends to attract customers.
Compliance and Safety
- Adhere to Laws: Ensure compliance with local alcohol-serving regulations and health and safety standards.
- Health Standards: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the bar area.
- Liquor Licensing: Ensure the bar operates within the scope of its licensing laws.
Financial Management
- Cost Control: Monitor bar expenses, minimize waste, and optimize profit margins.
- Sales Targets: Develop strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Cash Handling: Oversee accurate cash handling and billing procedures.
Event Support
- Coordinate for Events: Work with the events team to manage bar services for weddings, conferences, or other functions.
- Special Promotions: Organize bar-related promotions or themed nights to attract patrons.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bartender or mixologist (preferred).
- Knowledge of a wide range of alcoholic beverages and cocktail recipes.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments.
