The Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDDUBIDS), a public Tertiary Education Institution established by an Act of Parliament SDDUBIDS Act 2019 (Act 1001), located in the Upper West Regional Capital, Wa, Ghana, invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacancies: Associate Professors



JOB DESCRIPTION



• The duties and responsibilities of successful candidates shall include but not limited to: teaching, research, technology adaptation, innovation and publication; curriculum development; setting and marking of assignments and examination questions; invigilation of examinations; submitting of marked scripts and results; supervision of students project work, dissertation and theses; offering academic counseling to students, assisting in the administration of the department; supervision of students internships and industry visits; mentoring of junior colleagues, extension work and/or service to the University and the nation; and any other related duties assigned by the Vice-Chancellor or his/her representative.



Qualification Required & Experience



A person seeking appointment as Associate Professor must:



• Have been appointed as Associate Professor in the relevant discipline in an accredited tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere;

• Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization;

• Show evidence of outstanding performance in teaching, research and industry –related innovations in the candidate’s subject area, as well as, contribution to the intellectual reputation of his/her University.

• Demonstrate capacity for continuous research and dissemination of knowledge through technology transfer and publication;

• Have a minimum of sixteen (16) publications in recognized and ranked reputable peer reviewed journals and at least ten (10) of which must have been published after promotion to the rank of Senior Lecturer grade;

• Have served at least three (3) years in the rank of Senior Lecturer in the institution the applicant is coming from;

• Provide evidence of other research/professional activity/products;

• Evidence of industry experience and Membership of recognized professional bodies will be an added advantage.
