Job Description/Requirements
JOB SUMMARY: To play a pivotal role in supporting the Parts Manager in overseeing the parts department’s operations. This position requires a proactive and organized individual with a solid understanding of Spare Parts inventory management and customer service. The Assistant Parts Manager will assist in optimizing parts availability, managing staff, and ensuring that customer needs are met efficiently.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
· Assist the Parts Manager in daily operations, including inventory management, parts ordering, and customer service.
· Oversee the parts department in the absence of the Parts Manager, ensuring that all tasks are completed effectively.
· Coordinate with suppliers to maintain optimal inventory levels and negotiate pricing for spare parts.
· Monitor and manage inventory control processes to minimize stock discrepancies and reduce excess inventory.
· Assist in training and supervising parts department staff, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
· Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, processing orders, and resolving issues related to parts availability.
· Implement strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the parts department.
· Stay updated on industry trends, product knowledge, and advancements in parts management systems.
· Prepare reports on inventory levels, sales, and other key performance indicators for management review.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
· Minimum 10 years of experience in parts management, automotive service, or inventory management is highly desirable.
· Bachelor’s Degree in business, automotive technology, or a related field is preferred.
· Strong understanding of automotive parts and their applications.
· Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
· Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Strong leadership and team management abilities.
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
