Architect

Responsibilities:

 Tactical work:

• To develop architectural designs based on client’s requirements.
• Discuss the ideas, objectives, requirements and budget of a project and in some cases help to select a site.
• Collaborate with other professionals involved in the design project.
• Discuss the design proposal with the CAD technician and supervise to ensure that the detail drawings produced reflect the architect’s design.
• Use IT in design and project management, specifically using computer-aided design software;
• Produce detailed workings, drawings and specifications.
• Prepare preliminary specification of materials for the design.
• Keep within financial budgets and deadlines.
• Carry out regular site visits to check on progress and ensure that the project is running on time and to budget when required.

• All design solutions must be kept within timelines and budget.
• All drawings and documentation must be presented according to the approved presentation template or format.
• All design solutions must be innovative and must respond to the local environment of the project.
• All instructions given on site must be recorded in a site instruction book.
• All design solutions should have the concepts documented as part of the presentation to the client.
• All action charts from site minutes must be presented to the design manager 3 days after the meeting.
• All action charts from site minutes must be circulated at least 1 week after the meeting.
• All minutes of site meetings must be presented to the design manager for approval one week after the meeting at the latest.
• All minutes of site meetings must be circulated three days to the next site meeting at the latest.

Qualification: 

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited institution
• Understanding and knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, building construction, building systems and site requirements
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office suite is required
• Minimum of 3 years experience
