Job Summary
Performs work in the operation of a vehicle to assure safe transportation of clients to and from various destinations and to assist clients on entry and exit from vehicles as necessary. Assumes responsibility for care and maintenance of vehicle; washes and cleans interior; takes to garage for maintenance and repair. Document all vehicle incidents (i.e., damages, accidents) and provide reports of incidents to manager/supervisor. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the designated ambulance is kept ready at all times, by fueling it on time and checking oil levels and tire pressure.
- Clean and sanitize assigned ambulance from the inside after each haul, by following set sanitation protocols and procedures.
- Make sure that all consumable items such as medication and oxygen, along with emergency management equipment is available and ready for use.
- Liaise with the Clinical Team to ensure that all consumables are replaced upon use.
- Have oversight of the emergency medications and supplies log.
- Take orders from the dispatcher to rush to scenes of emergencies and map out appropriate routes on either conventional maps, or the GPS.
- Carefully but urgently drive the ambulance to the destination, changing routes when necessary.
- Assist Emergency Management Team (EMT) in setting up emergency equipment such as oxygen tanks and defibrillators.
- Provide assistance with medical procedures such as First Aid and CPR as instructed by the EMT.
- Assist in transporting victims of accidents or unwell people to the awaiting ambulance using the appropriate body mechanics and patient transport devices in a manner which would not worsen patients’ current health state.
- Drive the ambulance to the designated hospital or facility while keeping the dispatcher aware of the ambulance’s whereabouts.
- Ensure that patients are securely strapped and assisted from the ambulance to their designation speedily but safely using appropriate patient transport device.
- Create and maintain a log of all hauls within a day and submit them for review on a daily basis
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned him from time to time
Qualifications & Experience:
- High School, Diploma or Equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License of at least Category “B”.
- Knowledgeable in map reading.
- Basic Knowledge in CPR will be an added advantage.
- Must be physically fit.
- At least five (5) years of accident-free driving
