Your Impact

  • Execute health and hygiene programs to identify, evaluate, and control workplace health risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, protecting employee well-being, and driving continuous improvement in occupational health and hygiene standards.

As Part Of Our Team You Will

  • Execute health and hygiene programs aligned with organizational goals.
  • Evaluate compliance with health and hygiene regulations and standards.
  • Perform risk assessments and evaluations of workplace health hazards.
  • Conduct hygiene monitoring activities, including air quality, noise levels, Lead, Arsenic and chemical exposure.
  • Liaise with partners to formulate and implement hazard control measures.
  • Deliver advice and support to hygiene and health partner across sites.
  • Evaluate health and hygiene data to identify trends and recommend proactive improvements.
  • Administer training programs on occupational health and hygiene practices for employees.
  • Prepare detailed reports and present findings to the Lead Health and Safety - Surface.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace health and hygiene practices.

Your Training, Skills And Experience Checklist

Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):

  • Bachelors’ Degree in the Sciences or related field.
  • Advanced Certificate in Occupational Hygiene is preferable.

Additional Knowledge

  • Sound knowledge of Safety and Industrial Hygiene Legislative requirements.
  • Solid understanding of Safety Management Systems and Newmont Technical Standards related to Occupational Hygiene.
  • Foundational knowledge of risk management processes.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ work experience as an Industrial Hygienist in a Mining and/or Heavy industry environment.

  • Uses practical judgment to overcome problems, or requests assistance.
  • Sees alternatives based on trial and error.
  • Improves working methods using day-to-day experiences, procedures, observations of pattern of events, and trial and error.

  • Sound report writing skills.
  • Sound planning and organizing skills.
  • Proficient computer literacy skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Sound information monitoring and data capture skills.
  • Sound light vehicle operating skills (driving) with license B.
